Themed Rides

As if Sweet Breeze weren’t fun enough? This season Sweet Breeze will host four themed events to make your canal experience even more memorable. For those of you with special interests, check out the following:

Honor Ride

Sunday, May 27 at  2 p.m.  and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Attention all military and families! Sweet Breeze will be decked out in her Patriotic best for Memorial Day weekend so come ride the rivers in your honor. To show our appreciation and sacrifice, all Veterans can ride on May 27th for 1⁄2 price (with a valid ID). Reserve your spot today at fwoutfitters.com. Tickets are also available at the dock, Headwaters West, near the terrace garden. Sweet Breeze is fully accessible and can accommodate wheelchair riders. (Severe inclement weather as well as high water levels may cancel tours. Riders receive an email first of the cancellation, followed by a phone call from the staff to discuss rescheduling options.)

 

Sweet Breeze Fest 2018: Get on the Water!

Enjoy a day celebrating our rivers by cruising on Sweet Breeze, Fort Wayne’s authentic canal boat, June 9, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Headwaters WEST Festival presented by Friends of the Rivers. Sponsored by Steel Dynamics, Inc. (SDI)

You may not own a boat, but you can get on the water at Sweet Breeze Fest 2018. Thanks to the generosity of SDI, canal boat tours are priced so that everyone can ride along Fort Wayne’s rivers, enjoying natural scenery, sharing water activities, and viewing downtown from a water perspective. Tours depart every hour. Festival Hours & Location: Saturday, June 9, 2018; 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Canal boat tours are 45 minutes and leave the dock (Headwaters West): 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m.

Family Friendly Event Pricing Thanks to SDI: Canal boat rides: $5 adults; $3 children aged 12 and under. All other activities are free.

Activities: Enjoy live music all day as well as balloon art, face painting and food trucks.

Directions & Parking: Sweet Breeze departs the dock at Headwaters West every hour between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Canal Boat passengers can park south of Headwaters West in the City County (free on the weekend) parking lot, on North Calhoun Street (free, weekend on-street parking), and in Headwaters East (paid) parking lot.

Accessibility: Sweet Breeze is fully accessible. Everyone is welcome.
